My love for color
I recently happened across a blog I had never seen before and was so inspired by the blanket she made that I had to try it out for myself! The photo below is my finished project.
I had made granny squares before, but the joining method was very new to me. Like a lot of people, I loathe weaving in millions of ends when making an afghan. That’s what made this method appealing. It is a continuous join-as-you-go blanket. Sure, I had 120 circles to weave loose ends into, but I had very few white ends when the blanket was finished. I was so pleased!!!
Would you like to see the blanket that inspired me?! Click below:
The links to the continuous join-as-you-go method and circle pattern are on her blog. Thanks, Olga!!
Sweet Turtle Applique
This is the VERY first pattern I wrote, so I am awfully fond of this sweet guy! I hope that you’ll enjoy him too! Appliques are wonderful because you can add them to just about ANY project.
Please do not copy and paste my pattern. You may sell what you make, but please link back to this page on all listings.

Yarn is who I am
I was thinking earlier today about things that describe me. I thought about how much of my time is spent crocheting and joked with myself that YARN almost defines me. With that thought, I concluded yarn really IS who I am. I don’t know if you would call this a poem but these are my thoughts. It’s a little bit corny, but it is funny to me how yarn and my life could be paralleled.
Yarn is who I am.
It is colorful and strong.
It creates beautiful things.
It can be twisted,
rough,
vulnerable,
and soft.
It brings joy and warmth.
And sometimes it’s just one big knotted mess.
There is a beginning, and an end.
Once it has been used up, it is complete.
